Frequently asked questions
Can this tool fix a stuck pixel?
No. It is a dead pixel checker, not a repair tool. Normal color cycling should not be confused with rapid flashing methods. Avoid intense flashing if you are photosensitive, and consult the manufacturer before trying physical pressure or repair procedures.
Is every black dot a dead pixel?
No. Dust, a smudge, a screen protector, or debris can look similar. Clean the display and compare the same point on several colors.
Can I use it as a backlight bleed test?
The black screen can help you visually check backlight bleed and edge glow on LCD panels. Use a dim room and your normal brightness. Camera exposure can exaggerate the result, so judge it primarily with your eyes.
Does the test work on OLED screens?
